I'm reminded of how Mom would call me over to help her find something.  It would often go something like this:

[Looking for Hansi's ball:]
Mom:  I've looked everywhere.
Me:  What were you doing?
Mom:  Rolling it from the living room into the bedroom, he'd get it, and bring it back.
Me:  [Noting that a night table next her bed was right in the trajectory] Did you look under that?
Mom:  Yes.
Me:  [Getting down to eye level with the floor] Look again.
Mom:  [She does] Well, I'll be jiggered!
