[Magdalen] Cathedral choir to sing

The National Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys is scheduled to sing for the
inauguration next week. This seems to me to be highly inappropriate. What
message will it send to the children in the choir, let alone the general
public? It will seem to be an endorsement of Trump's speech and behavior
that are not in any way representative of Christian principles.

I've written to the Dean, the Very Reverend Randolph Hollerith, at
dean at cathedral.org to ask that he reconsider. If even some members of the
Rockettes and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, to say nothing of other
musicians, have refused to participate as a matter of principle, surely the
Cathedral should do no less.

I think the prayer service is more or less mandated--and certainly the new
president and vice-president need prayer, as we all do. But that can be
done without the choir;s participation.

Just my $ .02 worth
