Back in the day when the Tour d'Argent Restaurant, located on the
sixth floor of a building on the Seine still had its full 3 star
Michelin rating, a group of us friends from West Central Wisconsin
dined there.  We had a table at the window with a southeast view of the
floodlit Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral.  I can't imagine a more grand
view, and the food was scrumptious, naturally.  We all had the famous
pressed duck.

Some years later, the Tour d"Argent lost a star.  There have been such
things as chef suicides over such an event.  I notice it presently has
dropped another star down to (quel horreur!) one star.  There is hope,
however, as the restaurant has a new (lady) chef.

So long as my beloved Auberge de L'll still has the Michelin 3 stars,
(Illhauesern, Alsace) the constellations will be in their ordered flights
and all's right with the world.

but what a night that was as Paris
was lighting up below us. Unforgettable...
