[Magdalen] East coast storms

Oh, and that house out on the point
(called Straw’s Point or Locke’s Neck)
is built on my mother’s family’s land,
granted in the seventeenth century.

I remember when my mother sold it.
I was maybe eight or nine.
She stood silent, staring out to sea.
I wonder why I remember that.
