She'd studied Spanish in high school and in college and had lived in Peru.
The WHO sent her to accent remediation classes.

OTOH a Spanish-speaking friend assures me that Cuban Spanish is quiet
elegant.
Colonies!
A friend who grew up in Paris tells me the most beautiful French she hears
is spoken by older people from Congo.
